Customer wait times at the coffee giant have been on the rise, according to a May 29reportfromBloomberg.

For comparison, almost no customers waited that long during the same time period in 2019.

The anonymous employees alleged that understaffing is to blame for this trend of longer wait times.

The employees also suggested that Starbucks' scheduling algorithm is at least partially to blame for the alleged understaffing.

They also claimed that the model doesn’t accurately consider the impact that promotional deals have on customer traffic.

In response, the chain said thatBloomberg’sdescription “oversimplifies” how the algorithm actually works.
