Less than a year afterunveiling its “next-generation” restaurant prototype, Panera is rolling out yet another innovation.

To place an order, customers can simply pull up to the drive-thru speaker and speak to Tori.

Panera employees will be available to assist as needed and to take payments for the orders.

The deployment of Tori is one of several tech-forward moves Panera has made in recent months.

Panera isn’t the only fast-food chain to tap into the potential of voice ordering.

In June of 2021,McDonald’s began testing voice recognition systemsat 24 locations in the Chicago area.
